For different pages, we need different backgrounds. It will take us lots of time to create each new background pattern for each pages. It is not a easy work for someone to do it by themselves. Here I will tell you a easy way to create new backgrounds from a old, existing pattern. We will need the tool, Paint Shop Pro. You can download it by choosing Graphic Tools in my home page and get more information about graphic tools.

STEP 1Use File/Open... to open a old background you created before or download from internet, as the left figure. If the file type you opened is GIF, use Colors/Increase Color Depths/16 Million Colors (24 bit) to transfer the image from 256 colors to true color mode. |

STEP 2aChoose Colors/Adjust/Hue/Saturetion/Luminance. Modify the Hue parameter, and you can get different color sets of backgrounds. Just like the following examples.
You can also change the Saturation and Luminance parameters to get more color adjusting. If you find the effect you want, save it in GIF or JPEG formats. |

STEP 2b
In step 2a, the backgrounds modified by Hue parameter still contain many colors. If you want to create a single color pattern. Choose Colors/Grey Scale to remove all color info in the original image. |

In this case, the image after colorizing is too dark. I select Colors/Brightness/Contrast and adjust the Brightness parameter to make it brighter. Now we have created a new background so quickly and conveniently. By this method, we haven't to collect too many background patterns in our hard disk. Just create one whenever we need it. |
