Use LView Pro to Make Transparent GIF Images

You can download View Pro by choosing Graphic Tools in my home page and get more information about graphic tools.

STEP 1

Choose an image you want. Clear the margin of the image. If you use LView Pro to do this, you can drag the mouse pressing right button first to select a area you wish to be reserved. And Then Choose Edit/Crop!. All space out of the selected area will be cut out, Choose File/Save as... to save this new image.

STEP 2

Use any graphic applications to fill the background of the image with the same color. CAUTION! The background color you choose MUST differ to any colors contained by reserved object because this color will be covered by background image in your WWW browser later. In this case, I choose pure white to be background.

Then save this image using GIF 89a format

STEP 3

Open the image into LView Pro. Choose Option/Background color... and a dialog box will appear. You could set the background color you filled with in step2 by selecting Color Palette Entry. You also can push Dropper button and then choose the background area using you mouse cursor.

You can check whether the color is correct by mark Mark selection using:. The reserved object would showed in black if you choose Black, otherwise it showed in white.

Save this image using GIF 89a format and the result is the left.
